Friday night update

Karen, Brenden, Jaxson, Pete and I went to see Chris tonight.  Brenden was excited to go see Chris so he could tell him that he lost his second tooth while eating an apple today.   I’m elated to report that Chris is feeling and looking so much better!  I think that’s the best I’ve seen him look in weeks.  All of the doctors and nurses who saw him today told him they think he’s finally turned the corner.  He looked good, he sounded good, and he’s anxious to start eating again just so he can get out of the hospital.  Unfortunately, I still don’t think they’re going to start him on food for a few days.  They really just want him to rest up now…which seems somewhat ironic since it seems like it’s the night nurses that keep waking him up!  He said one of the nurses was all excited and woke him up last night just to tell him his Twins won (which he thought was very sweet and funny).  Although I didn’t clear it with Chris, I think it’s safe to say the visitor and phone call ban is no longer in effect.  Thanks for all of your thoughts, prayers, blog comments, and well wishes…it’s been a tough week and it means so much that so many people are supporting Chris and his family.

p.s. Pat – the big green spiders were a huge hit with the boys!  Jaxson brought one home and said that he’s going to put it under his bed while he sleeps so it doesn’t “freak him out”.

To Chris’s dear, dear family and friends,
There will be a special place in heaven for all of you!!!! You all are a divine mingle-mangle of guts and stardust!!!! This was a very down week for all of us (especaily for Karen)! Chris was really not doing well on Thursday night( a real low point) then to see the complete turn around on Friday was incredible ( the Lord heard your prayers and answered them) I have truely seen on this journey that the entire Baty clan has taken is that all of you have been incredlble pray warriors and that the Lord has been by Chris every step of the way. So let’s pray that going home is only a few more days ahead!!!

    Hi There,

We’re so thankful to hear that Chris has ‘turned the corner’, it certainly is an answer to prayer. Thank you Jesus.

Hey Chris, I’m so happy to hear you’re feeling better! It must have been a very difficult couple weeks for you and your family, but sounds like things are looking up…jello, juice, your kids, and back home soon. We miss you at work, they’re definitely keeping us busy, but we’re hanging in there without you. I think about you so often and you’re always in my prayers.
    Go Twins!
