Chris is still fighting! He won’t give up. He is still able to understand what is said to him if you catch him at the right time. He is still trying to get out some words but really hasn’t gotten out any since midnight. Yesterday he said, “I want to go to Heaven”.
He still has attempted to get out of bed every now and then. For the family we are keenly aware of how close laughing is to crying. We’ve been able to share stories about how Chris has brought such humor to our lives. The moment that we start laughing also brings tears. Those emotions are closely linked at times like this. It’s tough to see Chris in pain and struggling to breath at times. For the most part though he is without pain.
Yesterday when Jaxson was giving Chris a hug. Chris’ Dad prompted Jaxson t0 say, “Hi Dad”. Before Jaxson could respond. Chris said, “Hi Dad”. Everyone had a laugh and thought ‘that fit’.
It’s great to find humor in the midst of pain!
Just keeping you in the loop.
Love to All!,
