Summertime Craziness

Hello to you all! I hope you are all keeping cool this evening! It’s pretty steamy here, doesn’t take much to work up a sweat. The boys and I were out tossing the football around tonight and we were all drenched in sweat when we got done.
Our summer has been a little crazy. Baseball, soccer, karate, basketball camp, swim lessons and trips to the lake have kept us moving quite a bit. The kids finished up baseball and soccer last week. I think we are all looking forward to not being gone every night of the week. Jaxson seems to be happy to be done with baseball, he goes back and forth on if he’s going to play again next year. Brenden loves soccer, he also wants to play baseball again. He enjoys so many sports.

The kids seem to be doing well. We had a difficult Father’s Day followed by my birthday-which wasn’t easy on any of us. Uncle Dave, Aunt Sarah, my mom and other family members jumped in to help make it better. The kids remember shopping with Chris to pick out my birthday presents and Chrismas presents. They remember picking out flowers for me with thier dad. Father’s Day was obviously hard. We just spent the day together. I took them swimming all afternoon and we grilled out that night. They just missed their dad. I just want to send out a late Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out their. A Happy First Father’s Day for my brother-in-law Steve. A special “Thanks” to my dad for all he’s done for me and my family. Even at my advanced age, my dad still helps take care of me. He was with me when Chris died, brought me home, and helped me take care of all those horrid things you have to deal with when a loved one dies. He’s not only my dad, he’s my electrician, my carpenter, my handy man, my plummer, my painter, and so may other things that I can’t even begin to thank him. And there is no one in the world who can make me feel five years old with just that “look”. So thank you Dad.
And thank you to my children’s adoptive Dads–all the Grandpa’s and Uncles. You all mean alot to the boys and to me. They need that male bonding and you are all so great with them.

So, on with the summer. The boys have a week of camp in August. It always seems to be at least 90 degrees whenever they go to day camp. They are usually totally beat by the time they get home. Although, lately Jaxson seems to have a never ending energy supply, even more so than usual (astounding-I know!).

Opps! I gotta run. I beleive Jaxson is walking in his sleep again-a fun and exciting thing he does sometimes.

Love and Prayers,

Karen
